AED pads are made up of plastic, metal, and conductive adhesive gel.
Gels don’t last forever- as time goes by gels dry up and become brittle and crack. Pads require replacement every two years to ensure the AED analyses the patients heat rhythm correctly and delivers an effective shock when required.
